The company was founded in 1986 as a small service provider focused on the recovery and replacement of exhaust systems. In 1990, the business was transformed into a production, service, and trading company named “ULTER”, and began manufacturing mufflers for a wide range of vehicle types.

In 1992, in response to the growing market demand for sports exhaust systems, the company began producing mufflers and tailpipes, utilizing its extensive experience in the field.

The high standards demanded by customers for performance mufflers became the driving force behind the introduction of new technologies and high-quality materials. The end product met these high expectations and was awarded a certificate by the Państwowy Instytut Motoryzacji "PiMOT" (Polish Automotive Industry Institute) in Warsaw, entitling Ulter to mark its products with the “B” safety certification label.

In 2001, the company "ULTER-SPORT" Sp. z o.o. was established with the mission to develop a modern distribution network and execute a plan to build a state-of-the-art factory that meets Western European standards. This strategic move allowed us to begin selling Ulter's range of sports exhausts across Europe.

In 2003, the vision became reality with the opening of a new production facility in Węgierska Górka, near Żywiec. This advanced technological plant paved the way for Ulter’s successful integration into the European Union’s market structures.

In 2004, the plant was certified to ISO 9001:2001 standards by TÜV CERT Saarland, confirming the compliance of its production processes with ISO 9001:2000 requirements and granting the use of the TÜV CERT mark.

Today, Ulter products are recognized not only in Poland but also in markets across Slovakia, Ukraine, Hungary, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Russia, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, and even distant Turkey — further proof of the continually increasing quality of Ulter’s products.
